Default Tube Door Tether

I would like to see tethers for the tube doors. I have a 2008 4-door Rubi and just put my tube doors on. They really are a great product. There are two things that I would suggest.

1) They rattle like crazy, especially the front two. Not sure what I can do to quiet them down but they really are loud.

2) Tethers. Without some kind of tether the doors swing all the way open and bang in to my relocated mirrors. The back doors swing all the way forward and can hurt the paint. With the tethers that are included with the full doors, they attachment point is already there. Is there a way you could produce a strap with a velcro loop on the other end to wrap around a portion of the door?

Thanks,

Kes

Kes,

In response to your questions.

1) If you've got rattle issues, I would suspect your door handles. Quite simply, we had quality issues when we were purchasing these from a third party, so we started building them in house. When the first couple of batches of our in house handles went out, we had some issues getting them just right. We've got them pretty well dialed in.

I can imagine your frustration there, I know how frustrated the 8 million phone calls were. We can take care of you though. The next time you get a bit of time that you're not gonna be using them, give us a call and we can get you an RGA to send them back for replacement under warranty.

2) The Limiting Strap Kits have been available for some time now. What year is your Jeep? I can give you the part number for yours.

Jason, thanks for the quick response on both issues.

If it helps, I bought my tube doors from quadratec last december. I didn't know about the rattle issue until I just put them on a week ago. I don't know if having them so long causes any problems. I can send them back anytime. I'll give you a call on that.

I have a 2008 4-door Rubicon for the limiting straps. I didn't know any were out there.

Thanks again, for your help

Ken

No problem.

Your front door limit strap kit is 90798, and rear is 90799. Retail should land somewhere around $12-15 per kit. One kit does the pair of doors.
