View Full Version : U-Bolt Skid Plates torque force?

Hi
I am missing info aboute the torque force to use on the bolts for the skid plates... (I'm reinstalling them after some work)

Well, simple answer is to torque them to whatever your U-Bolt torque spec is. The torque spec is not specific to the skid plates.

And that is going to be rated by size. If they're 7/16" then 45lb-ft. If they're 1/2" then 60lb-ft. If they're 9/16" then 90lb-ft.

Be sure to go back a week or so later and re-tighten. U-Bolts like to stretch, especially if they are new.
