A great looking bolt-on carrying rack. Ideal for hiking equipment, tents, coolers or whatever you need to bring along. Comes with brackets for two five gallon gas/water cans. The universal model fits most CJ's, and vehicles with swing away tire mounts, with minor modifications.

Important Note: Before purchasing one of these racks, please be aware that in order to install this, you will need to drill two holes into the left side of the tailgate, as well as two holes through the hinges on the right side of the tailgate. Also, on some models, holes will be drilled in the back plate under the tailgate to hold the extra lower plates. These plates are held on with 4 screws on each side (8 total). The new JK rack does not include these plates, as this Jeep does not have a backplate.

Attention JK Owners! Before purchasing or installing an 831 adventure rack on your tailgate you must be aware of a potential issue with your tailgate. Due to the weak structure of the tailgate, we have had issues with racks ripping the mount bolts through the tailgate after installation, with minimal weight added. To counteract this, you must install your rack with one of our tailgate covers. You can use either our diamond plate aluminum (920D) cover, or our steel (S920D) cover.
